Not so good!
I wanted to go find a nice Chinese meal, so I went to the International District with a buddy of mine. My friend found a bug next to him on his chair, but other than that, everything started out fine. The bug later returned or another one appeared. We ordered Kung Pao Chicken and Almond Fried Chicken. The Kung Pao came to the table nearly 10 minutes before the Almond chicken. Kung Pao is my favorite Chinese dish, and it was very inadequate, and had a fishy aftertaste. The chunks of chicken looked like something you would find in chicken noodle soup out of a can. Very poor quality, and not spicy at all. I had to double-take to confirm to myself it wasn't a form of fish. I did get a replacement meal of Mongolian Beef. This was rather slimy, and still a hint of a fishy aftertaste, something was not right. I also had to ask for refills on my drink of soda. They would bring water and just leave the empty glass of soda on the side of the table. For $40.00 for two, this was very unacceptable, and I would not recommend it to any of my friends. I will not be back, that is for sure. I went about 8 years ago, and I thought this was one of the better Chinese restaurants I had been to at the time. There must be a new philosophy or management.    [13 Sep 2003 14:35:46]
