Pleased to have this place in Maple Leaf This morning we went to Kona Kitchen for the first time, for breakfast. They just opened a couple weeks ago, a few blocks from our house. I was sad to see the German restaurant close - but I'm pleased to have this new restaurant in its place.
Keeping in mind this place may change as it matures - and that I've only eaten there once, here are my thoughts.
I ordered a BLT and macaroni salad - and it was perfect. Bacon cooked perfectly, not too much or too little of anything on the sandwich.
The service was friendly and thoughtful. This place is new and they really want feedback.
I think this will become one of our regular spots. [22 Sep 2002 02:08:55]

Great New Hawaiian Restaurant The Huli Huli chicken was outstanding and the kalbi ribs melted in my mouth, the atmosphere was really lively when I was there and the music made us feel ...........Hawaiian. Everything was great and the prices were really reasonable. It was a bit bright where I was seated, but all in all ok. [09 Dec 2002 16:39:45]

Fantastic New Place My wife and I have been to Kona Kitchen twice now and have already become determined to make a habit of it.
We've both had the Chef salad which was perfect on two separate occasions. Everything was very fresh and plentiful. My wife loved the Won Ton Mein soup and I agree as I sampled it while she was in the ladies room.
On top of the food, the ambience was very warm and inviting and the staff couldn't be friendlier. The owner came over and chatted with us for a few moments too and was incredibly pleasant to talk to.
Kona Kitchen has already become a favorite spot and a place we'd rather go than any of the other restaurants around us. [24 Jan 2003 01:16:23]

One of my favorite restaurants!! I have been to Kona Kitchen many times! It is so awesome there, the food is great, the service is great, the owners are really nice and their baby is adorable!!! ;) I've had several of their dishes and have yet to be disappointed. This week, I've been there 4 times in a row. The drinks in their bar are great. The owner makes my fav cocktail the best! She also has a Kona Punch which is excellent. [10 Apr 2003 17:43:33]

Absolutely Fabulous! I am a sucker for Hawaiian style foods and this is the first place in the Seattle area I have been to that is really really good. It is also owned and operated by Yuji and family from Karate Kid II. Breakfast, lunch, dinner.. I've tried it all and it is absolutely fabulous! My sister and I are regulars at Kona Kitchen. The service is great, the food is delicious and the price is right, what more can you ask for?!? In addition, the bar has been recently completed (Yuji's Bar)and it's nice and cozy. If you pop in for a drink, try the Kona Punch, it's got a good kick and is also yum! [10 Apr 2003 18:24:43]

Cozy Restaurant I'm a lover of all things Hawaiian from music to food to quilts. When I saw the sign "Kona Kitchen" I knew I had to try it out. It's really nice to see more Hawaiian restaurants appear here and there throughout the Puget Sound region. Anyhoo, I grabbed a friend of mine (a former resident of Oahu) and we tried the grub. My friend had the "Da Bruddah" omelette and I had the Hawaiian Sweet Bread french toast with a side of Portugese sausage and we both agreed it was ono-licious! The atmosphere is laidback and the service is friendly. The posters, photos, and articles keep the customers entertained while waiting for their food. I highly recommend this restaurant for those who crave good Hawaiian food. [30 Jan 2004 13:10:38]

A hollywood Celebrity comes to Maple leaf! =) The Kona Kitchen is an awesome place to unwind and eat great food while chatting with one of Hollywood's best. Yuji and his wife are great people. At first I was a bit nervous to meet Yuji, the words didn't come out quite right, heeheehee. But after a few visits he's like an ol' chum from the past. He was kind enough to give me his autograph, and actually sat down next to me and chatted away while I finished up the excellent meal they served. I think it's great to have a superb restaurant in the neighborhood where I grew up, and to meet a real hollywood celebrity; now thats an added plus! :) Yuji and family, "WE LOVE YOU ALL", thanks for everything!! See ya soon!!! I'm getting a bit hungry...hmmmm, maybe I'll drop by for some lunch. Take care and thanks again for the autograph!! =) Your friend, Karl =) [03 May 2005 12:38:54]
