Whoever wrote the comment about so-so sushi is on crack
This is simply the best Japanese and sushi restaurant I have ever been to, and I go to a lot of them. It is better than any sushi restaurant in New York, San Francisco, Honolulu, etc.. The sushi is the freshest, most artfully prepared I've seen. The other comment about it being "so-so" must be dated.    [28 Aug 2003 01:37:10]

Excellent value, the real deal, tatami rooms are great!
The sushi is great at Maneki and inexpensive. For fancier, more impressive (and expensive $$$) sushi go to Chiso in Fremont, but Maneki offers really good sushi at a very reasonable price with the added benefit of a Chinatown location that is fun to take out of town visitors to. As a person who has tried most of the sushi joints in town Maneki is one of my most frequented and I love taking people to the tatami rooms there!    [09 Jan 2004 13:22:56]
