I crave it My office used to be two short blocks from non-descript building that is Number 1 Teriyaki. Within a short time, it became more than just a usual haunt. It became a need.
As you approach, note that the sign over the building reads 'Number 1 Teriyaki' in English and something equally prominent in Korean. What should you make of this? Only that this "teriyaki" joint is one of the best Korean lunch hangouts in the whole city. The teriyaki is flavorful and moist, though I haven't eaten any teriyaki here since I discovered the Korean menu.
Eat dwae-jee-bulgogi, a spicy marinated barbeque pork, and pahjun (item #1), a shrimp and scallion pancake. Eat the assortment of kimchee that comes with. Try a hot pot. Be happy.
The proprietor and his wife add a lot. Always friendly and smiling. Gum or lollies for desert. [27 Mar 2005 13:26:58]
