Disappointed I suggested to 4 of my female friends that we eat dinner here last night before the Art Walk in Silverdale. I was very disappointed. I had eaten lunch here before and had a Bistro Salad (I think that was it...greens, gorgonzola cheese, apples, candied nuts and honey balsamic vinegar). I was anxious to try it again. There appeared to be no "help" around when we came in the front door. I had made reservations and there was a sheet of paper with my name on it. We all sat down and waited and waited and waited. Finally a gal came over and took drink orders. We waited quite a while longer and another gal came and said she had only been working 3 days. Her service was fine. We placed our orders. Three of us ordered the Bistro salad (based on my recommendation). The slices of apples were the thinnest, tiniest I've ever seen. The dressing was nothing as I remembered it. One of my friends ordered the "grilled" Reuben sandwich ... it came NOT grilled and with horseradish on it (the menu said "horseradish on request" and she had not requested it). Neither of the people who ordered wine (one red and one white) like the wine. So all in all ... it was a very disappointing meal. To top it off, when I got my bill it was $7.46 (I only had the small salad) and I paid with a $20. When she brought me back my change, there were only bills ... she didn't give me the change of of 54 cents. Not a big deal ... just added to all the rest I don't think I will recommend this place again. It has such great potential;the ambiance is great but something is missing!!!! [10 Mar 2007 13:23:28]

Love the place I've been twice now, both on Friday nights. Despite being busy, the service I've received has been above average to excellent. Their staff has been friendly, prompt and knowledge-able. I have not been in a better place in any of Kitsap county, it doesn't get much more classy on this side of the water. [15 Mar 2007 14:04:28]

Over-rated We used to be regular customers at the Lighthouse Cafe & Wine Bar when it was family owned and adored it. The owners were very friendly(hugs upon coming and going). They were very knowledgeable on their handpicked wine selections and at their tastings. The food was very simple but presented very elegantly with deliciously large portions. They were happy to give out recipes. It was such an upscale, sophisticated and homey place, like someones own living room. The decorative touches were beautiful. We always felt welcome and part of their family.
We were saddened to hear that they sold and thought we would give it a shot................ we will never be back! The food was half the portions they used to be and at least several dollars more. The silverware was dirty as were the wine glasses( lipstick on the rims). The salad dressings are not even close to the same recipe. The bread was not as fresh either. Too bad, it WAS a classy, warm, friendly place! It's just "another club" as far as we're concerned. Too bad someone doesn't open another classy, adult venue for the "over thirty" group that doesn't want "the bar scene"............!! [20 Mar 2007 17:45:20]

A bit good and a bit bad Service, Ok service is a big deal, but not here. There is an eternal wait it seems for anyone to say hello to you other than the band. And what seemed to be the manager was the person that finally determined we had not been waited on.
Food is mediocre, Wine selection is what you can buy at Safeway but nothing grand or unusual. If you want to have a run of the meal sandwich or salad, with a basic glass of wine, and pay a slightly above the norm then expectation are met.
The seating is good, there are regular chairs and tables, as well as sofa seating for two or even one around a small table. The ambiance is quiet, in the evening, and on Friday nights there is a two person guitar duo called slightly bent that plays here and is decent enough to listen to. [14 Apr 2007 23:25:42]

Cheezy I used to go with my friends after work for the great appetizers and fun drinks. The help was so friendly and always called us by name. Though they seemed short staffed, they were efficient and really quick!!! We loved the intimate seating and the "friends bar" type atmosphere. It WAS a classy, Napa-type ambiance. We have tried to like it and support the new owners but they just don't have a clue. The owner is very friendly (in a creepy way) and his help is un-friendly and slow to respond to even greeting us when we arrive. We wish them luck ... they're going to need it. We hope the old owners open somewhere else and we find out where, they did it right. [07 May 2007 14:30:41]
