dinner DISASTER I made reservations and told them it was our 20TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. We got there on time on July xx,2007. We were shown to a table that was "just OK". (I would have thought we could have had one looking out at the grounds since our 20th anniversary was a very special day to us).
The waiter NEVER acknowledged it was our anniversary. He took our order, gave us our food,AND THEN NEVER EVEN CAME BACK to ask how was the food, give us more bread or anything till my husband asked for the check at the end of the meal.
We had to ask the "water guy" for more bread.
When we paid - STILL NO HAPPY ANNIVERSARY WISHES. No nice "happy hour anniversary" dessert. No mention of our 20TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY AT ALL!!
It was SO BEASTLY HOT in there that my face was dripping with sweat and my face was red. No air conditioning. No FANS, no windows open.
My husband called the next day to complain about the awful service. JOHN, who was the owner, talked with my husband. Said he was "sorry" about our experience, said he would talk with his wife and get back with us. HE NEVER BOTHERED TO CALL.
We have been to the "Grant House" and Sheldon's Cafe lots of time (probably 15). Now it is under NEW ownership.
I have never had such an OVER PRICED MEAL with such awful service in my life.
OVER PRICED....LOUSY SERVICE....HORRIBLE Ambiance. Do not ever go here [30 Aug 2007 15:47:21]

I Agree - Disaster Oh my gosh this place sucks - High priced - Poor service - Bread what Bread ??? Fillet looked like a small pork chop - over cooked on cold lentils served with undercooked string beans that were over seasoned. So you want a Martini instead of on the rocks - Extra dollar....How about some shredded lettuce with tasteless dressing...8.00 I wasted 1:45 minutes of my life. [07 Jun 2008 13:06:32]
