Shakti's Restaurant in Wenatchee is Top-Notch!! I've got to hand it to the local owners of this savvy supper club. They have, without a doubt, skillfully and generously created a warm, mature dining escape that is far from the norm here in Wenatchee. Shakti's ambiance? To put it simply, it's unsurpassed. You won't find another restaurant that feels this good within a hundred miles or more from here. The cuisine? Shakti personally does all of the cooking right in front of you and has since she, and her mother Renee, opened Shakti's in 2001. Expect big, bold and mesmerizing flavors. Expect only the freshest ingredients around. Expect exquisite presentation and an eye for detail. The table-service? I can personally tell you that Shakti's wait staff goes above and beyond what many of us have come to expect from the very finest of restaurants around the world. From top-notch wine presentations to stunning verbalization of nightly specials, this group of friendly professionals never miss a beat. Check out the live Jazz on Wednesdays and THE BEST handcrafted martinis this side of the mountains. It will truly feel like a slice of the city!! In the warmer months we love to dine in their gorgeous private garden under the stars. Need I say more? Oh, don't forget to call ahead for a reservation. They don't "turn and burn" tables like other restaurants do so you might no get in without one. [02 Mar 2006 13:29:44]

Shaktis Stays on Top Well, we heard they were closing, bad news for wenatchee. Then in a twist not only are they staying, they're opening for lunch? Please, do yourself a favor and GO SEE for yourself. Every meal is made to order and its obvious. Presentation of the dish is unsurpassed for Wenatchee- how does your steak "LOOK" when it shows up on your plate at the Windmill? Very down to earth good place to eat too, and the prices aren't bad for what you get- NOT Applebees. Daily specials are a treat and always fresh tasting. Very personal small-town service with a metropolitan attitude ....I can only say Shakti knows what she's doing. Keep It up! [18 Aug 2006 22:38:48]

Shakti's was a big disappointment Shakti's was a big disappointment. I had high hopes and the restaurant itself is beautiful - low lights and beautifully decorated. Very romantic.
First, they didn't have our reservation. Then, the service was rushed. Our appetizer arrived at the same time as our bread, before we'd even had a chance to sip our wine. No sooner was the appetizer whisked away than the entree arrived.
We only wanted a glass of wine but we wanted something good, to go with what we thought would be good food. The waiter had to struggle to tell us which varietals he had, and could tell us nothing about where they were from, or which food's they would go with. We didn't have time for a second glass. The wines themselves were OK, but I'd have loved information about them. I'd also have loved to see some local wines on their (verbal) wines by the glass menu.
The appetizer, the calamari, was pretty good and it was nice to see it not fried for once. My husband's pasta entree would have fed three people and was daunting. My risotto was dire. There are two risottos on the menu at Shakti's and I am fairly certain they make up a batch of very cheesy risotto early in the day, then simply heap the differentiating ingredients on top (scallops, arugula and Roma tomatoes in my case). These latter ingredients added nothing to the dish, bar the scallops, which were nice. Our dessert was the orange creme brulee, which was delicious. But not worth the trip or the money we paid.
