Disappointed Overall a poor experience. We stood waiting at hostess table with two people ignoring us. Finally one jabs the other and we get a table. We ask one question about the "salmon" and get a non-answer. We order and have to wait over 35 minutes to get our food. The waitress apologizes and says they are overloaded with orders. We glance around the restaurant and see it mostly empty.
Food arrives with two of the three dishes lukewarm at best and soggy. The salmon isn't from Alaska, in spite of their claiming an Alaskan atmosphere and salmon is in season. As it was Fathers' Day, I was told there is a free beer. The beer was good, but we did notice we were charged for it. Upon questioning, it was removed.
Overall, I find no reason whatsoever to try this place. Even the nice view over the pond in back is blocked from the main dining area by partitions. [19 Jun 2005 22:00:01]

Great Best place to eat in Eau Claire We decided to go to this brewpub while we where shopping for christmas gifts in Eau Claire. I can not say enough about how great this place is. We arrrived and it was packed with people. THe host and manager where very accomodating and professional. We where seated in less then 5 minutes and where told the daily specials and the beer offerings. The server told us again about the specials and then told us what her favorite was. She was very helpful. I ordered a combo platter appetizer and cold not have been more pleased with the offerings on it. The atmosphere was approaite and the real wood burning fireplace was very homey. I then got my order of elk meatlof, the special, and was surprised by the generous portion. It was the best. THe mashed potatoes where perfect and truley real with a buttery taste. THe server then offered us the pie which is Norske Nook pie, that was baked fresh on site. wow what a treat. I had the raspberry and it was so fresh and tastie. Just like a meal my mom would have made! After diner we had beer. Again wow no wonder they won a metal for there brown ale called little bandit brown. It was a great way to end a great meal and the staff where excellent. [17 Dec 2007 10:19:15]
