Cauldron of creativity - Herald Times Reporter, Suzanne Weiss, 18 May 2003; Rich Bouril likes to put the “culture” in Culture Cafe. Not only does the cafe owner regularly bring in a variety of musical entertainers and poets, but he’s also turned his walls into works of art. - suggest change
Surfing.... With Coffee - Herald Times Reporter, Charlie Matthews, 16 January 2005; Manitowoc, WI's only Internet Cafe - suggest change

Try Someplace Else The food is terrible! We tried the so-called "wraps" which from the smell of the vegetables was were a few days old. We didn't finish them. The service was sub-par; the "waitress" spent more time on the phone than waiting on the customers. After ten minutes we finally gave her our order, it took another twenty to get the food. She had a bad attitude and snarled when we asked for our food orders. It was the first time we never left a tip. Overpriced, dirty, bad srvice. [19 Apr 2004 18:37:48]

Uninspired and Lifeless My wife and I entered the "restaurant" and ordered two cups of coffee, a "veggie burger" and a chicken sandwich. First the cream was lumpy, it was old. We then got two diet-cokes(in bottles). After twenty minutes our food arrived. My chicken tasted like something from a vending machine, the bun was very hard to bite into. My wife's "veggie burger" wasn't microwaved all the way through. It was icy she said. None of the chips on either plate was bigger than a quarter, the pickle was dry. [21 Apr 2004 14:07:43]

management meeting I ate at the Culture Cafe on my lunch break with a few of my co-workers and we had a great experience. We all ordered the club wraps and were very pleased!!! They were all made of fresh vegetables, unlike Subway or Cousins. The service was great, for our dine-in. [29 Apr 2004 12:12:00]

Love the place, love the people This is one of my "favorite everyday visits." I love the wraps, pasta, soy beverages, cold drinks, and soups. Rich and Megean add just the right amount of "welcome" with their "cross-counter banter" and levity. It's a non-alcoholic Cheers to be sure. Seriously, I'm addicted (in a wellness sort of way) to the Culture Cafe, their food, beverages, and "with it people." By "with it," I mean they are individuals and I celebrate that. I'll often refer our students and college personnel to take a break, stop in the Culture Cafe, and relax. They most certainly would leave with a light step and smile on their faces. For a change from fast food, go to the Culture Cafe on 151 a few blocks from the interstate. Great wraps with fresh ingredients are created from ingredients you select. The vegetables are even freshly grated just for you. There's frozen yogurt for your sweet tooth, and the especially rich coffee drinks are made with generous flavoring. Enjoy. [08 May 2004 13:47:18]

inaccurate reviews Anybody who has eaten here knows that freshness is our niche. A review which mentions old veggies and lumpy cream, was an attempt to damage our business, over dislike of my employee for personal reasons. If this site is responsible for hosting these these reviews they should be prompt in posting any positive reviews. We do not offer table service, and the customers are responsible for ordering and bussing tables.
Also, the term dirty does't apply here. The health inspector gave us his only "no violation" he has ever given during last inspection. [10 May 2004 13:13:05]

Healthy and Fresh After many road trips, Culture Cafe makes our list of favorite stops. Our wraps were wonderful My husband likes a good cup of joe and there you go. We stop in on another trip years before any other restaurant even knew what a wrap was. The guy behind the counter was a hoot. [17 May 2004 15:05:47]

Best thing in Manitowoc since big boats Culture is right. Come here and you'll get great coffee and even better conversation. Music, natural products, and the owner is the key to anything else you want to know about the city and the world around you. Must stop!!!!!!! [20 Jul 2004 16:09:08]
