Antigua Real..great food poor service
What started out as a lovely dinner ended in a bungled 3 hour debacle. Our waitress had difficulty placing our order correctly and had to return 3 times to ask us for clarification. Things she should have asked when we were ordering...like chicken or beef? She brought us the wrong drink, and she spilled part of a drink. It continued to get worse as her visits to our table became less frequent until we were sitting finished with our food surrounded by piles of dishes and empty glasses for over 1/2 an hour. When we stood up to go and find her she appeared tears in her eyes. The management had decided it was a good time to talk to her about poor performance and left us with no server all that time. We finally ordered dessert at last and got 2 spoons for the 5 of us. Manager never checked on us the whole night. When we asked for some compensation we were given excuses instead of apologies. They were even telling us how badly the night was going. We just wanted a sincere apology, not a break down of the night. We lived it...we knew how bad it was! They did not comp anything, but instead gave us a free pitcher for margaritas which will come in handy in Denver Colorado where we are from. I work in Customer Service. I do not complain unless it is extreme. This was a mess from start to finish and insulting that they would not even try to make things right. The food was awesome, but their lack of management skills ruined the night. A sincere, heartfelt apology would have gone a long way. Any attempt to salvage our night and show they cared would have been appreciated.    [10 Sep 2006 12:02:26]
