I don,t know about their restaurant but I had a banquet done there for my relatives after my mothers funeral. At $12 a plate for 40 people .
We were served stale crumbling rolls, stale rye bread ,cold cheap slimy ham slices, old turkey slices and a huge platter of beef that no one would even touch .One bowl of bowtie pasta salad, a plate of lettuce ,a plate of tomato slices ,two bowls of pickles.a plate of about twenty cookies and fifteen brownies for around five hundred dollars.
The ketchup ,maynoise, mustard were in little packets .I looked around and saw plates full of food nobody wanted to touch. Finally I told the younger crowd to take the rest home because we sure didn't go through 40 people worth of food .
We were than told we couldn't take any of the food that the we paid almost five hundred for home.I asked the manager what happens to full platter of beef no one touched .He told me they will reuse it .I said wait a minute you won't let us take food out home because of health code violations but you just admitted to me that you,re going to re-serve the platter of beef .
Actually the meat on the platter looked like it was from a party before .So I told him no one is using the meat I paid hundreds of dollars for to reserve to someone else .So the manager and I finally agreed to toss all the meat into a garbage can .
Three platters of uneaten meat. What a shame people starving and I had to throw all that meat out to keep him from re-serving it .What a way to treat people that attended my mom's funeral.
If taking food home from a restaurant is a health code violation. Why do other restaurants give you doggie bags? They charge an outragous set up fee for few platters on a table ,a stack of plates one bowl of pasta salad and two bowls of pickles .It was bad enough to come from a funeral but to pay good money for food that was way below standard just made me fed up as with my guest.Feel free to hire them for your banquet if you wish but I have two witnesses that heard them admit they reused the deli meat so I will be contacting the health dept and hopefully their shabby ways of treating a banquet party will eventually be their last    [15 Apr 2008 10:16:09]
