The Last Orignal Taste of the West Not only have I grown up at the Goose Egg Inn, I frequently eat there. The food is always cooked with care, and after you eat there it sets a hole new standard. Though it is located out of the way, it is always worth the drive. The Goose Egg Inn is one of the last historical, and dining establishments in Casper, WY. I have written an article about the owner, Irene Brooks, and I would like to share it with all. Irene “Granny” Brooks started in the restaurant business in 1944 as a waitress at the Townsend Hotel. Through the years she worked and/or managed hotels and restaurants like the Henning, Riverside, Ramada Inn, and the Town House. Then on May 10, 1978 she purchased the now Historic Goose Egg Inn. Located 5 miles southwest of Casper at the base of Casper Mnt. Irene has served everyone from the rich and famous to the not so rich and famous. Once she even catered a cocktail party for Robert Kennedy. But locally many know her for her generosity and kindness. She has donated countless meals for raffles and fundraisers. Also, Irene has donated food for the Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels, and other safe house around the Casper area during the holiday seasons and during times of need. During the last couple years she has also donated her time, and services for the fire fighters battling fires around the Bessemer Bend area. For “Big Red” this May 10 marks the 25th Anniversary of ownership at the Goose Egg Inn. Despite rumors she no intentions of selling or retiring from the restaurant business. The Goose Egg Inn books reservations for anything and everything. And don’t forget about our patio, perfect for summer get togethers-big or small. So the next time that you are craving a juicy piece of Prime Rib, think of the Goose Egg Inn, you wont be disappointed. [29 Apr 2003 00:39:57]

A taste that's hard to beat! The friendly staff welcomes you whether you're a party of 2 or 20. A lot of "regulars" show up each week for the legendary pan fried chicken on Wednesday nights, the tasty catfish special on Friday nights, and the filling and satisfying prime rib on Saturdays. The staff greets customers with a smile - and knows many guests by name. If you want to get a taste of the old west in a fabulous historic atmosphere - you've got to stop in at the Goose Egg Inn Restaurant. [19 Feb 2007 23:20:28]
