Can't live without Svilar's
Whether it be the home made sarmas and ravioli, or the amazing steak and seafood, Svilar's is a dining experience. I have been eating at Svilar's for almost 25 years, and the food and service is still remarkable. Anyone in the region should make it a point to stop in and endulge their appetite in gourment food and great service.    [19 Jun 2003 15:53:01]

Still the best in the state
Dinner at Svilar's with a party of 8 last night was exactly as expected. A taste sensation. Sarma, ravioli and prime rib to perfection is still the treat that makes the drive to Hudson, WY worth the effort. For many years, and still today, this is THE place you have to have dinner!!!    [03 Jun 2007 09:56:15]

Usually good, but hit and miss
I've been eating at Svilar's for most of my life. (I live in Lander). Quality wise, they have declined a bit in the passing years. For example, they used to serve home-made dinner rolls which were absolutely fantastic. Now they have pre-made muffin style rolls which are still okay, but not near as good as the original.

Also, they appear to be having trouble with their staff, as getting proper done-ness on steaks and prime rib, etc., is very hit and miss. If you order medium well prime rib, there's a 50% chance that it will come out rare, but if you send it back, it'll come back well done, ruining the dish. Occasionally, the sarma and ravioli come out cold, again though, this is very hit and miss, and when they're good, they're awesome.

Overall, I'd highly recommend the place, if you have a bad experience one night, come back again and it'll be better for sure.    [25 Mar 2008 17:03:24]

Wonderful Place To Eat In Wyoming
My family went on a road trip to Wyoming to see all the sights we live in Denver, CO and our friend was raving about this Steak House in a little town in Wyoming named Hudson. After we were seated we were brought out a tray of carrots celery and peppers and water and butter. On the menu there was a story of the founder of the steak house, I recommend reading that. Our servers name was Christy she was very kind. She made sure our water glasses were always filled and we learned that she was the founders great-granddaughter and that made meal more personal.

First dish was a salad the blue cheese dressing was out of this world and then she gave us homemade sarma (cabbage roll) and Ravioli. Our main course was wonderful. I had the wee lobster tail, my husband had the huge t-bone. I tasted that steak and the flavor is too perfect to describe. My eldest son had the prime rib which he loved and my youngest son had the chicken strips and after I had the new york cheese cake and it was very good.

Some of the workers seemed like they would rather goof off than work. The bartender seemed very unfriendly and was rude to some of the other staff. But overall it was a wonderful steak house. I would love to go back in the future. I really recommend it.    [15 Jul 2008 03:39:36]
