Old Fashioned Roadside Cafe
The Woods Landing Bar and Cafe offers an old fashioned sandwich menu at lunch that reminds me of the road trips of my (50s) youth. The ultimate experience, however, is the prime rib, available only on Saturday nights. The meat (available if various sizes) is done to perfection and served in a down home atmosphere. There is no fancy wine list here, but reasonable California wines fit the ambience. The service is casual and friendly. The crowning glory is the truly homemade pies. My particular favorite is the razzleberry (mixed wild berry) pie. If you're after an expensive, gourmet experience, this is not the restaurant for you; but if you want moderate-priced, homestyle comfort foods done very well, this is the place.    [18 Dec 2002 14:51:49]
