Description
Indian restaurant located at the far (Cong Quynh) end of Bui Vien Street. Well signed, with big rooftop sign visible from well down the street. Thirty metres up the street from Mumtaz, another Indian restaurant.
Open at front, it seats about 30 people either side of a central aisle.
The owner/chef used to cook for one of the main restaurants in the CBD but has branched out on his own here. Prices are inexpensive.
Does free home deliveries. Have a free home delivery menu available upon request.
They also do specialised outdoor catering including their mobile traditional Indian tandoor (clay oven).
They have special set lunch menu with choice of varieties of food at VND 70,000 (vegetarian) and 85,000 (meat etc).

Yummy food Delicious simple spicey food at very reasonable prices. Nothing flash, all dishes remind me of home cooking: plain, tasty, large serves. They do a nice set of breads as well, my favourite being the naans. The place is clean and newly refurbished, but it lacks atmosphere. If the front wall was knocked out and access to the street gained, it would add to the atmosphere, get rid of the need for awful air conditioning, and perhaps attract more customers. For the food deserves more custom than the place currently gets. [08 Dec 2006 04:02:49]

Renovated and Better... I wrote the above review back in December of 06. I can now report that they have done exactly what I was advocating: knocked out the front wall and got rid of the aircon. With a wide open frontage and lots of wall fans the place is now a delight to sit in. The food is as excellent as ever. Last night my friend and I ate a Chicken Mirch and a Rogan Josh which were both superb. Pappadams okay and the naan breads perfect, absolutely perfect. Service is good, Heinekens cold and cheap. I love this place.
[Update October 2008] I used to love this place. Sad to say, I rarely use the home delivery service nowadays. What used to be standard 20 minutes started to take an hour and a half. Then one time the motor bike delivery boy (after taking 90 minutes) had scratched out the price on the bill and added a 20,000 VND delivery fee. I called the restaurant to check if they had changed delivery fee policy. They had not. I was singularly unimpressed. [19 May 2007 22:44:21]
