Simple French Straightforward simple French food, not too expensive, especially for tourists. Mains at 100 to 200 thousand VND for example, are up there beyond local or street food, but here you are getting a small bustling place that has a good feel about it, and the food too is that step up beyond local or street.
Heinekens at 30,000, a price to be expected, but again, not too bad for a place like this. Glasses of vin ordinaire start at 45,000, or you can get bottles of good stuff for hundreds of thousands.
Service OK, but the meals took a surprisingly long while to come, even though we were early and there were only about two other tables occupied. By the time we'd finished, the place was packed, so I don't know how long those others would have had to wait.
But it was worth it: my pork fillet was very good, while my companions had rabbit (opinion: excellent) and grilled duck (also very good), respectively. [I don't speak French, consequently forget the exact French names for these dishes.] [03 Jan 2009 21:11:01]
