Pig Out, Moo Out
Yes, 12 kinds of meat brought to your table. The rare beef was delicious, the tenderloin also, the Brazilian sausages good, the lamb OK. As a ham addict I found the hot ham too greasy, and many of the other meat offerings ordinary, some of them overcooked. You go there to pig and moo out on meat, but you do need something by way of decent accompaniment. The boring salad was hardly that, and the Brazilian beans fairly tasteless. 35 thousand for a Heineken is not a good Saigon price. In fact the whole event was too expensive, and though I'd go there again, it would only be once a year or so for novelty.

UPDATE Feb 2008
With the shift of address and venue, my review needs a little updating. Whether they took notice of chefmoz reviews or not cannot be known, but now the set meat choices are accompanied by an extensive vege buffet. You can still get the Brazilian black beans and salad, but also many other dishes including VNese type rices and noodles. Potato salad, cucumber chilli salad, etc.

Also, the ambience in this labrynthine villa is quite nice, very relaxing and smoke free (at least in the area where we were). (I've altered my ambience rating below accordingly: * to ***) (Also my overall rating up from ** to ***).

Heinekens were 30,000 VND/bottle. Down by 5,000 VND from before. Amazing to see a SG price decrease.    [19 Dec 2006 03:36:02]
