good delta nosh In Vung Tau, a restaurant specialising in the good stuff you can get down in the delta, such as whole boiled chickens and various rice gruel and noodle dishes. Hotpots of course.
The chicken was very good, cooked superbly, cut up - as it usually is - in big chunks that appeal to carnivores. I eat this dish regularly at home in Saigon, and love it. Sitting down to a whole chicken, hand feeding by hunk, is my idea of a good dish. We also had a fried goat dish that was OK, plenty of skin on the goat pieces, which I like.
Beers cheap: Heinekens 15,000 VND, cold, out of a big fridge, but still with ice if you want it.
Service was attentive and unobtrusive at the same time.
Ambience very good, shady (lunch time), potted plants, thatched roof. [08 Dec 2007 07:47:28]
